Schlitz Audubon Center | Milwaukee Wedding
How do I describe Abby and James’s wedding day – it’s hard to put to words all the wonderfulness!
The Schlitz Audubon Center is one of our favorite wedding venues especially for outdoor ceremonies. Situated just north of Milwaukee in the suburb of Bayside with 185 acres including serene fields of wildflowers, thick forest, a sandy secluded beach and a fantastic lodge style nature center which doubles as an event venue. 6 miles of walking paths make all grounds easily accessible and fun to explore. The Schlitz family originally used the grounds for raising and housing it’s brewery draft horses. You cannot go wrong with this wedding venue and we were thrilled that one of our all time favorite couple choose it as their wedding ceremony and reception venue.
The Jewish Wedding
It’s such a privileged to cover the wedding days from many religions, traditions and cultures. The Jewish wedding traditions are beautiful, touching and fun. We were especially touched by the loving involvement of all the family members. All the happenings were thoughtful and memorable from the signing of the Ketubah (traditional marriage agreement) to the ceremony under the chuppah (jewish wedding canopy) and finally the smashing of the wine glass to the choruses of “mazal tov” from the wedding guests.
The Reception
Also held at the Schlitz Audubon Center the reception continued the fun and joyous celebration. Wonderful speeches, good food and dancing with everyone involved and having a blast. The Hava Nagila song and dance was crazy fun with the couple precariously held up on chairs and everyone crowded around and singing at the top of their voices.
Thank you Abby and James for all the wonderful memories. It was such a joy capturing your day!
