This weekend was a disappointment weather wise as we had to cancel a good amount of sessions. That, however, ended up working in our favor last night as I did an engagement session near Holy Hill. The sun was warm, it wasn’t too cold, and we found some colorful trees (even if we did have to hunt around for them).
Chris and Ellen are such a great couple who are so easy to be around. Their affection and true care for each other is such a wonderful thing to see. Thanks for laughing, joking and getting to know me as we walked through the fall colors and enjoyed the evening together. ENJOY!
My cousin Greg and his fiance Jackie are getting marrieds next fall in Madison and we are so excited for them! My uncle John Cook (captain cook) has a place down the beach and hosts the best amateur fireworks show each 4th of July! Greg helps out each year running from tube to tube lighting the rockets. We had to find a way to work fireworks into the shoot!! Basically my dream session; cute couple, bon fire, and pyrotechnics! It was such a blast.

Jack and Amy just moved back to the area after living in Dallas for awhile. After phone conversations and emails back and forth, it was so wonderful to finally see their personalities and story come to life in front of the camera. These high school sweethearts were so fun to work with on such a beautiful summer evening. We couldn’t have asked for a better sunset night for a great engagement session. We can’t wait for your wedding this fall!
Chicago natives Kerry and TJ have chosen Elkhart Lake, WI for their wedding. Sarah and I are so honored to be covering their day in just a few short weeks!
The weather was perfect for the session as it was a warm sunny day with hardly a cloud in the sky. We had a great time walking around town snapping pictures and going over all the plans for their wedding day. For those who have never been to Elkhart lake imagine the vintage feel of Door County, but, with crystal clear blue water and white sand beaches. The town has everything you need for a great vacation; sandy beaches, fantastic restaurants and several turn of the century resort hotels. There is history in this town for TJ. When he was a teenager he attended a drama camp for several weeks every summer. His eyes would light up as he told stories about all the fun stuff they would do at camp and around the town. And now they are creating new memories….
We had a wonderful afternoon session with Shannon and Jim last week. Initially, they were a bit anxious as they felt they often didn’t look great in pictures. But, that all changed as they relaxed and began to enjoy a wonderful summer day together at the beach. This was our first time meeting Jim and Shannon in person as our consult was via Skype. They are deeply in love and it came across clearly throughout the day and in the photographs we captured.
The summer can so often become busy and hectic so Sarah and I strive to make our engagement sessions fun and carefree. Thank you Shannon and Jim for sharing the day with us. We can’t wait for their wedding this August at the Boerner Botanical Gardens!!
